At end of life ensure that your projector is taken care off in an environmental friendly way
Projectors contain many hazardous substances that have negative effects on the environment. These substances need to be taken care off. Some parts, like metal, can be recycled and therefore it is important that the projector is sent for recycling at end of life. Some products can even be refurbished and reused again.
There are different alternatives
1. A relatively new projector can be sold on a second-hand internet site or give it to a charity organization.
2. There are different life times to different parts of a projector; the lens for instance can be reused in a refurbished projector.
3. Send your projector for environmental friendly recycling.
Within the EU, all manufacturing or product selling companies have the responsibility to ensure that their sold products are taken care off in an environmental friendly way at end of life.
All consumers need to take their own responsibility and ensure that the product is taken care off in an environmental friendly way at end off life.
A TCO Certified projector fulfills requirements that facilitate recycling, such as labeling of plastics, limitations on the number of plastics and that different materials can be easily separated.
